Pirkko Mattila

Pirkko Mattila was appointed as Minister of Social Affairs and Health on 25 August 2016. Ms Mattila is a second-term Member of Parliament representing the Finns Party. She has served as an MP since 2011 with responsibilities in various committees. She has chaired the Administration Committee of Parliament since June 2012. Ms Mattila holds a Master of Arts degree and is also a trained anaesthetic nurse and teacher. She has worked as a nurse and as a trainer at Oulu Adult Education Centre. She was born in Yli-Ii, in northern Finland in 1964.
