Rich Karlgaard is the former publisher and current editor-at-large and futurist of Forbes Media. His writing is known for its keen assessment of technology, economic, business and leadership issues. He is a regular commentator on the Fox Business channel, a speaker and panel moderator at business events, and a Silicon Valley investor and advisory board member.

Karlgaard’s 2014 book on innovation culture, The Soft Edge: Where Great Companies Find Lasting Success was foreworded by Harvard Business School professor Clayton Christensen. It made the lists of top business books of 2014 for Time.com, Inc., 800-CEO-READ and Huffington Post.

Karlgaard’s 2015 book, Team Genius: The New Science of High Performing Organizations, was published in 2015. The book was hailed by Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, and Fred Smith, CEO and chairman of FedEx.

His 2019 book, which Karlgaard calls his most important, is called Late Bloomers: The Power of Patience in a World Obsessed with Early Achievement. It immediately became an Amazon #1 New Release and was favorably reviewed by National Public Radio’s Morning Edition, Harvard Business Review, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Post.

Karlgaard holds a B.A. in political science from Stanford University. He and his family live in Silicon Valley. He is a past winner of the Northern California E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year award, and a proud member of AARP.
