From retirement to real estate, Lauren Young has covered all aspects of personal finance for the past two decades, most recently at Reuters, where she is Wealth Editor. Previously, she served as Personal Business Editor and Intern Coordinator at BusinessWeek; Senior Writer, Staff Writer, and Staff Reporter at SmartMoney Magazine; Reporter at Dow Jones Newswires; Copywriter at McCann Erickson-Budapest; and Editorial Assistant at National Parks & Conservation Association.

Young is a frequent "talking head" on CNN, NPR, ABC, NBC, CBS and other media outlets. She won an ICI Excellence in Personal Finance Journalism Award for a SmartMoney series of video interviews with mutual fund managers along with a Newswomen’s Club of New York Front Page Award for the ReutersMoney FacebookLive video series on personal finance topics.

Young serves on the boards of Pennsylvania State University’s Schreyers Honors College, Penn State Hillel, the Deadline Club and the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue. She is a member of the Women’s Bond Club. She also is the founder of the 29 Post, a (profitable!) student newspaper at Brooklyn’s P.S. 29 elementary school.

A Philadelphia native, Young worked for her elementary school, middle school, high school and college newspapers. She holds a BA degree in English from Penn State, where she was the Winner of Outstanding Young Alumni Award.  She also holds an MSJ degree from Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, which recognized her with an alumni service award for overseeing the Medill Club of Greater New York.
